St. Louis boasts one of the nation’s richest beer stories. The St. Louis Brewers Guild has emerged from the suds as the preeminent force uniting the now 60+ local breweries that reside in the metro area.
Since the Guild’s establishment as a non-profit in 2012, the thirst for beer-related knowledge and events among residents and tourists in St. Louis has become the strongest since the days before Prohibition. As a result of this beer renaissance, St. Louis Brewers Guild came to Almanac for development of a new brand and website, STL Beer, a platform to share information on the region’s breweries, events and news, geared for beer tourists and local beer enthusiasts alike.
From the organization's new mark and throughout the website, we used the history and accomplishments of the STL beer community to tell the story of the Guild while creating a hub for planning a day (or week) of brewery-hopping. Features we knew were a must? A full calendar of beer-focused events, profiles with specs on the area's 60+ breweries, a shop, news, interviews, and more–connected of course by the desire to find the best brew possible.
A City Built on Brewing
We love our Saarinen masterpiece but wanted to avoid crafting another logo with a depiction of the St. Louis Arch. Instead, the new STL Beer mark fuses together the St. Louis fleur de lis + hops & wheat. Prost!
