The St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation raises funds that help make the hospital less “hospital-y,” to quote a recent patient. From child life and therapy to transport, the work of the Foundation supports the research, care, and innovation that go on at Children’s every day.
Objective
When the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation hosted its very first fundraising gala, the team knew that guests would enjoy the evening, but to make it a success, they had to also be moved to give. We worked with the Foundation's communications team to create a video to bridge the fun-loving nature of the evening's festivities with the seriousness and emotion of caring for very sick children.
Strategy
When the Foundation was ready to create a video for their fundraising gala, we knew it should give viewers the chance to experience all the emotions that go along with caring for kids. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is full of hope and healing, and sometimes sadness. We reviewed hours of footage of kids and parents and caregivers—some smiling, some not, all of them getting better because of St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The final video required no voice over, no words at all. The story is told in the faces of those who are touched by this special place.
